I know what you're thinking, "who needs a guide to binge a bunch of movies all weekend?" Well just you wait my magic loving friends, because you will be thanking me.
A few months ago, a pandemic took over our world, thus causing many of us to stay quarantined in our homes. Like many others, I found myself glued to the screen of Netflix, Hulu, YouTube, all the big guys. It was NOT healthy. And so I began to think, what can I do to make this more social, more productive, less depressing??? And then it began...
1. Witches & Wizards
Since we want this to be a social activity, you need to figure out who of your magical friends you are inviting to this marathon. Make a list, send them a text/email, work out availability, then schedule the Zoom Meeting! You can use the selection "share screen" or you can all hit play at the same time on your own screens and have the zoom call going on a separate device like your phone. This way, you can chat or make comments with each other while the movie's playing.

This does not have to be a Zoom activity! I watched it with my 4 other siblings. So make it a friend activity, make it a family activity, just make it your own!
2. Schedule
This is crucial if you want your marathon to be organized and efficient. Below I have included the schedule we used for our marathon, so please feel free to use this as a model. If you are bothered by the fact that their are only a few minutes in between some of the films, do not worry! These times include the credits which normally last 15 to 20 minutes long, so we actually had plenty of transition time.

I loved this schedule because it worked perfectly for our case. We wanted to have it completed in one weekend since we have all have school during the week. With this schedule, we had time to eat lunch, exercise, and take a bathroom break. And we gave ourselves a couple of hours in the evening to eat dinner and just give our eyes a break from the screen. So make a schedule that works for you and your family/friends! Ours is sort of intense. You might want to take a week to watch all of them, or maybe you watch one every weekend? Just make it fun for you.
Here is the running time for all 8:

3. Get Out Your Wand & Butter Beer!
You heard me right. If you want to take this marathon to the NEXT level, you need to really become the witch/wizard you truly are.
But in all seriousness, getting dressed up and having some delicious Wizarding World treats are sure to make your marathon more fun and magical. I have an assortment of Hogwarts robes buried in a costume chest, and there are some marvelous recipes out their for butter beer, pumpkin juice, chocolate wands, etc. Pinterest is covered in them! You could even put up some decorations in your watch room like Hogwarts banners, a stuffed animal owl, or print out some pictures of your favorite characters!
